The Minnesota Timberwolves matched the Portland Trail Blazers' offer for restricted free agent Trenton Hassell, meaning the team will keep one of its top defenders. The Blazers' offer was worth $27 million over six years.

The Minnesota Timberwolves re-signed point guard Troy Hudson. Hudson's six-year contract that will pay him $4.9 million in 2004-05. The deal will average $6 million a year. The two sides agreed on guaranteeing the fifth year of Hudson's deal if he plays in 65 games in any of the next four seasons.

Timberwolves guard Latrell Sprewell decided to stick around for next season -- for a cool $14.625 million

The Timberwolves chose Blake Stepp in the second round of the 2004 NBA Draft. Stepp, a 6-4, 194-pound guard from Gonzaga University, was the 58th player taken overall.
